Discussion with the FSA on EMIR and OTC derivatives clearing
Folllowing the formal adoption of EMIR by the European Parliament on 29 March, we invite you to a seminar including a keynote presentation from Helen Boyd, Technical Specialist from the OTC Derivatives and Post Trade Policy Team Markets Division at the FSA.
Helen will provide her insight on the final text and look at some of the key issues to be concluded by ESMA in the coming months. The seminar will provide an opportunity to discuss with a key policy maker the future regulatory framework as well as the practical issues which both buy and sell side firms can be addressing now.
We will also be launching and demonstrating our navigator: derivatives product which provides regulatory advice and guidance on the complex and increasingly regulated area of OTC and exchange traded derivatives. Of relevance to both the sell and buy side, the service covers local licensing and marketing restrictions, legal risk management (eg netting, enforceability and client asset protections), exchange trading and clearing requirements, contractual issues and capacity and authority of specific counterparties, in over 40 jurisdictions.
This product adds to our range of existing navigator services, providing regulatory advice on (a) the cross border marketing of (i) open ended funds; and (ii) securities and closed-ended products; and (b) share disclosure and short selling issues.
